The United Kingdom is a country in northwestern Europe. More precisely it is called „United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland“. The Country consist of four parts: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. England, Wales and Scotland are located on the actual island of Great Britain. Northern Irland is a small part of the opposite island of ireland.

There are also some smaller islands nearby that belong to the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom also owns colonies in other parts of the world. They are now called overseas territories.
